The UC White Mountain Research Center is seeking experienced cooks to prepare meals for visiting groups of college students & research scientists. The position lasts from May through October 2026 at our facilities in Bishop, CA.
Compensation is $21.43-$28.28/hr, 40 hrs./wk. with partial benefits & shift differential. Professional development offered.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan menus, place supply orders, & prepare meals for groups of between 15 & 50 people
- Maintain order & cleanliness in the kitchen & dining area
- Ensure an excellent dining experience for visitors
Required Skills:
- Capable of creating high-quality, high-volume meals
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Reliability & flexibility
- Good at budgeting
- Basic computer skills
- Valid CA driver’s license & a good driving record
Catering, restaurant, or field station cooking experience preferred
