OBFS Membership

Annual Membership

Founded in 1963, the Organization of Biological Field Stations exists to serve its member stations in ways that increase the effectiveness of their research & education efforts.

Annual Station Membership is $150/year and Annual Individual Membership is $50/year. Membership is valid from January 1 to December 31 of each year. All amounts are in US Dollars.

Membership Benefits

OBFS maintains a web-based membership system. Annual Station Membership or Annual Individual Membership entitles members to receive official OBFS mailings & e-mails, use the email-list to communicate with the membership, post news and job announcements, and be made aware of our training opportunities for field station staff. Field Stations with Annual Station Membership have their contact info appear on our interactive map, so that people looking for information about the field station will find it on our site. Annual Station Membership also allows the field station(s) representative to vote in OBFS elections and decisions.

OBFS is busy at work on things that affect your field station, including developing relationships with funding agencies, cooperating in research networks, sharing information with Congressional Representatives in Washington D.C. Stay involved with us to help shape the future of field science in your community.

If you know of other field stations or interested individuals in your area that are not yet members of OBFS, please invite them to join us.

How To Sign Up

First, you must have a user account on this website (create one here). As a part of your user account, you can provide information about your field station(s).

Second, you must purchase membership online using a credit card.
