Summary:

The Executive Director of the UCSB Natural Reserve System (NRS; http://nrs.ucsb.edu) oversees the personnel,administration, programs, and budgets including fundraising for the seven UCSB-managed Reserves within the thirty-nine Reserves of the University of California NRS (http://www.ucnrs.org/). The Executive Director works in consultation and under the general direction of the UCSB NRS Director, but is largely responsible for strategically leading and administering the UCSB NRS, in fulfillment of the NRS mission of supporting university field research, education, public outreach, and natural resource stewardship. Job #20160130

Minimum Requirements:

Earned Ph.D. in field ecology or similar environmental science.

Experience in strategic organizational leadership and initiative, and in personnel supervision, administration, budgets, and

data analysis.

Experience in program development, fundraising, and project management.

Excellent problem solving skills, and outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Experience working with diverse groups, stakeholders, and external agencies.

Computer literacy including web based research and office productivity software.

Willingness to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Preferred qualifications: fundraising success; experience supporting field research and University classes; experience

with land stewardship, and facilitating infrastructure and facilities maintenance and improvement projects; experience in

environmental communications, data management, and information technologies.

Salary & Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications up to $110,000/yr, plus generous UC

benefits.
